Rift Valley Fever

Researchers in South Africa have embarked on a five-year study to investigate the epidemiological cycles of Rift Valley Fever. I shadowed these scientists as they did field work around the Free State of South Africa. Rift Valley Fever is just one of many neglected tropical diseases whose transmission is being affected by climate change–with huge repercussions for humans and wildlife. Photos from this project were published at Scientific American.
